Moving During Covid

COVID-19 has effected the everyday life and routine of people and businesses all over the world. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), nearly 5 million Americans have been effected. A big question among consumers has been – are companies still business as usual? For industries like moving and house cleaning, this an important question. Since the beginning of the pandemic, ABC has been dedicated to moving our customers as safely as possible.

What is COVID-19?

According to the CDC “COVID-19 is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person.” There are over 30 million cases confirmed around the world and 5 million in The United States alone. Symptoms of the Coronavirus include cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, loss of taste and smell, etc. High risk individuals include older adults and individuals with underlying medical conditions such as lung or heart disease.

Are moving companies still operating?

Since the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown happened, moving companies have been considered essential business. When choosing a moving company right now, it’s important to first check that they are still in business and what precautions they are taking to keep clients and employees safe. While most moving companies have remained open since the start of lockdown in March, it’s still a good idea to double check that your preferred business is still open.

Best health practices

With the threat of infection constantly looming, there are a few things to keep in mind while moving.

Moving during COVID-19

  1. Online quotes – ABC Moving has always allowed users to submit online quotes. This is a better alternative to some companies who may make you do an in-person estimate. While some of these companies may have switched to virtual estimates, our online quote form is an easy way to get your estimate safely.
  2. Disinfecting – A great way to have peace of mind during your move is to disinfect surfaces. This can include countertops, hard surfaces and even boxes/packages. The CDC has said COVID-19 can last on surfaces for up to a day. When moving into a new house, disinfecting those surfaces with an EPA recommended disinfectant when you arrive can help cut back on the germs in the air. The same can be done for your boxes once they’re all moved.
  3. Social Distancing – Along with disinfecting surfaces, the Center for Disease Control also recommends keeping a distance of at least six feet from others. Our talented team is dedicated to following all of the CDC guidelines and keeping our customers safe.

During these uncertain times, it’s important to choose a moving company you trust. ABC Quality Moving and Storage is committed to keeping both their staff and their customers safe. Fill out a form for free quote or give us a call today!
